Oh, Charleston!
Surprise, surprise, I snuck in another mini vaca to Charleston in May for my birthday. Our last trip was in the wintertime. Springtime was a gorgeous time of year to visit. The food and beverage scene is exceptional. The southern hospitality is lovely. But the interior design, architecture, history of the southern city is my favorite part of visiting.
Finding inspiration for our home
I LOVE walking around the historic downtown with no specific itinerary and stopping here and there to eat, drink, shop, and explore. From patterns, color combos, textures, antiques, I find so much inspiration in the interior design, whether it be a hotel, restaurant or store.
My favorites interiors from my most recent trips:
The Harken Cafe & Bakery (62 Queen St.)
I love the dark wood + dark green + pop of orange. Also highly recommend for their coffee and eats.
Right inside the front door is these antique drawers. Love the exposed brick.
Love the exposed brick and green on green.
How cool is this bathroom, with exposed brick, beams, and what looked like magazine clippings of botanicals covering the walls? Also love the sconces and sink.
Bin 152 Wine Bar (152 King St.)
Charleston’s oldest wine bar – I learned from that the floors and door were original from the 1800s. I love the historic, antique vibe.
Post House (101 Pitt St., Mt Pleasant)
The Post House Inn provides a classic, nautical, southern feel.
I love the bluish/green trim- something I’m recreating in our home. I would love to find a little WC sign for our powder bath.
Additional Interiors (Some from a 2023 trip)
La Patisserie at Hotel Bennett Charleston
Clerks Coffee Company at Hotel Emeline
Love gingham chairs, lights, and floor to ceiling windows.
This spiral staircase 🙂
More to come on the pretty interiors, and exteriors, of Charleston!
